We are pleased to announce the winners and those students who received honorable mention for the 2008 Letters about Literature competition sponsored by The Center for the Book in the Library of Congress in partnership with Target Stores and the New Jersey Center for the Book. Chris Farkouh, Sixth Grade and Marissa Brogger, Eleventh Grade from the Rumson School District, are the Level 1 and Level 3 winners in the Letters About Literature / Library of Congress reading writing initiative in the State of New Jersey for 2008.

Reading & Writing Contest

The task for young readers is to, “Write a letter to an author explaining how his or her work somehow changed your view of the world or yourself.”

There are three levels of competition:

Level I: Grades 4-6
Level II: Grades 7-8
Level III: Grades 9-12
