The Jersey Trackers’ bookmobile was unusually loud as the team headed to the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City. The usual rustle of flipping pages was replaced today with the excited hum of the book club’s students planning what activities they would do at the touch and feel museum.

“I can’t wait to see the archaeology department,” Chelsea mused. “I heard there is a real sand pit and brush to discover fossils. Imagine if I discover a fossil no other visitor has ever seen before?”

“I don’t think that’s very likely, Chels,” Simon said.

“I’m excited to see what Mr. C has up his sleeve. I heard him talking on the phone about a secret vault. I wonder if he will let us tag along,” said Maya.

“Ok, gang, we’re here,” Mr. C, the Trackers’ leader and librarian, called out from the front of the bookmobile. “Let’s make a single file line and take a look out over the Hudson when you get out.”

In the distance stood the Statue of Liberty, facing out towards the Upper Bay.
