This is the third year of the NJ Center’s participation in the Library of Congress national competition through the New Jersey School systems (grades 4 -12).

The New Jersey Center for the Book is sponsoring the New Jersey portion of a national reading-writing contest sponsored by The Center for the Book in the Library of Congress and also by the Weekly Reader Corporation and Target stores.

The task is to “Write a letter to an author explaining how his or her work somehow changed your view of the world or yourself.”

There are three competition levels: grades 4-6 = I; grades 7 & 8 = II; and grades 9-12 = III.

New Jersey Judges were:

Level I
