The bookmobile squealed to a halt in front of the Newton Center for Applied Mathematics. Out front, a large crowd of students had gathered.

“They’re here for the lecture,” Mr. C said as the Trackers filed off the bus and headed for the door. “Which is supposed to start in less than an hour.”

Simon’s eyes widened. “Wow, that’s a lot of people.”

“And they all seem to be pretty excited,” Maya observed.

“Now I really hope we find Dr. Newton in time,” Jamal added.

“Yeah, we don’t need a riot on our hands,” Chelsea decided, only half-joking.

“Do math students actually riot?” Cooper wondered aloud. “How would they even do that? Would they get out their calculators and—”

“There’s no time for that now!” Gabby said firmly, leading them all to the door. “Come on!”
