Pat Morris with New Jersey Winners in Letters About Literature 2019

The award ceremony for the Letters About Literature event for 2019, a nation-wide program of the Library of Congress and each state, took place on May 15, 2019 at the College Ave. Student Center of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.

The many talented student writers from across the state were honored. The students included the first and second place winners in each of the three grade level categories as well as those recognized for honorable mention. Nearly 200 parents, teachers, students and friends were in attendance. The program also featured an Authors’ Alley of New Jersey authors and their books focused on youth literature. The second e-book published by the New Jersey Center for the Book was also showcased.

We congratulate all New Jersey winners!  The first place winners in all three categories are listed below.

Hannah Castiglione, Far Hills Country Day School, Far Hills, Winning Level 1 (Grades 4-6) Letter to Liz Kessler, author of the Emily Windsnap series.
