The Route 1 Reads initiative is a partnership between 16 affiliate state Centers for the Book to promote books that illuminate important aspects of their states or commonwealths for readers traveling this meandering highway. The initiative was launched at the 2015 National Book Festival in Washington, D.C.  This year’s theme for the Route 1 Reads selection is Cookbooks, which will serve to unite state communities celebrating the heritage of local fare.

The NJ Center for the Book is delighted to submit Dishing Up® New Jersey: 150 Recipes from the Garden State by John Holl, to represent our state.  We in New Jersey have thoroughly enjoyed perusing this book and know all who read it will look forward to dishing up many of its spectacular recipes from some of New Jersey’s great restaurants and eateries. There are many choices that will delight the chef of your household, your family, and your guests!
